About Us:

Tempo Chorus, Toronto’s newest queer choir, began in 2023 and provides singers who love pop and show tunes, making beautiful harmonies and who sing in the Tenor-Bass range a space to rehearse, learn, experience community and share their love of music.

We had our first showcase We’re Coming Out at Hugh’s Room in June 2024 – a sold out massive success!  We had another sold out concert Sleigh Slay and Be Merry also at Hugh’s Room in December 2024!  We have also done community performances for audiences both small and large including Casey House, Fife House, Union Station’s holiday and summer markets, and PWHL (Professional Women’s Hockey League) games.

Coming in June 2025 – Toronto City Hall Pride flag raising ceremony on Monday June 2nd at 5:00pm.  And you won’t want to miss our big Pride concert Fierce and Free at Hugh’s Room, this time with two dates – Tuesday June 10th and Wednesday June 11th.  Check out our Upcoming Performances page above for a link to buy your tickets!

We are an auditioned chorus, partially off-book (memorized).  Doug Hammond, a seasoned Artistic Director leads weekly rehearsals, Wednesdays from 7:15-9:30pm at the 519 Community Centre in Toronto.  If you want to be a part of this exciting new choir and can sing in the Tenor-Bass range, please click on the Join Us button above now!  Tell us a little about yourself by completing and submitting the form and we will reach out to you.
